World premiere of Haunting Julia at the Stephen Joseph Theatre In The Round, Scarborough, directed by Alan Ayckbourn. Haunting Julia is a supernatural themed play for three men and is regarded as a companion piece to Snake In The Grass.

10 February 1999
Revival of Haunting Julia at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, directed by Alan Ayckbourn.

5 November 2001
First known mention of the play in correspondence in which it is referred to as Grass Widow.

December 2001
Alan Ayckbourn writes the play Snake In The Grass; a supernatural themed play (although less overtly supernatural than Haunting Julia) for three women, inspired by the 1955 film Les Diaboliques.

3 February 2002
The West End producer Michael Codron expresses interest in buying
Snake In The Grass for the West End; however the events surrounding the 2002 London premiere of the Damsels In Distress trilogy and the subsequent moratorium on any new Ayckbourn plays being produced in the West End puts paid to this.

World premiere of Snake In The Grass at The Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, directed by Alan Ayckbourn.

January 2003
Tour of Snake In The Grass, directed by Alan Ayckbourn, opens at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford.

2004
Samuel French publishes the acting edition of Snake In The Grass.

11 February 2008
The Stephen Joseph Theatre announces Snake In The Grass will be revived at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, in summer 2008 as part of an Ayckbourn supernatural season alongside Haunting Julia and Life & Beth.
